Chesapeake's have been in our lives for over thirty years. Our first Chesapeake was Zach a rescue that had been re-homed twice before he came to our home, he was only nine months old. The reason I wanted a Chesapeake was an easy decision, in my younger years I had hunted over Chessies many times in the duck blind and they outperformed any dog in the marsh. But more than their hunting prowess was their personality and their dedication to their owner. I was at College of the Redwoods during that time and I owed it to my future Chesapeake to be settled down. After college I rescued Zach. I am retired from CAL-FIRE now and Chesapeake's have come and gone in our lives since Zach and we are at a time that we can dedicate to breeding these great dogs. We owned and operated a large sheep ranch in Northern California, breeding champion natural colored Corriedale sheep. As you can imagine having an operation that large took many dogs to help manage it from herding dogs to livestock guardian dogs, we trained them all and of course by my side constantly were my hunting companions, my Chesapeake's.
We are now located on the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington State a diverse area where the mountains meet the sea and our Chessies are exposed to all of it. With access to property in eastern Washington our dogs are exposed to and work and train in these varied environments making them the perfect upland game and waterfowl dog. Our dam and sire were both highly trainable and came from excellent parentage, they took to their tasks well and were a pleasure to train. I personally trained them both for waterfowl and upland game hunting and both possess a high prey drive and great personalities. As breeders we will be dedicated to the breed standard. Our Chessies are part of our family and while they are highly trained gundogs, they are also our constant companions and have been playmates to all our children.
